Math Help for GIs

Math is a problem (pun intended) whether it be Algebra or Calculus. But there is a simple answer. Instead of dropping your class or spending hours of wasted time trying to figure out what is going on, ask as many questions as you need to your own tutor and the GI Bill will cover the tutorial assistance.

If you are receiving any form of GI Bill, you will be reimbursed up to $100/mo for the cost of hiring a personal tutor. For most students, this more than enough covers an entire month's worth of questions because the cost is only $0.29 cents per minute at Learn Without Limits.

The VA tutoring program allows you to choose your own tutor. At Learn Without Limits, you can choose your own favorite tutors from over a 100 qualified teachers. This gives you the advantage of picking an individual in whom you have confidence. Your learning becomes a much more personal, one-on-one experience that finally allows you to master difficult math concepts.

To be eligible for the GI Bill tutorial assistance, the tutoring must be for a class in which you are currently enrolled. All Learn Without Limits tutors are highly qualified and meet the requirements set by the VA. Learn Without Limits will pre-fill VA form 22-1990T for you for your reimbursement.

Additional eligibility requirement include that the course must be necessary for the completion of your approved program. You must also be training at one-half time or more in a post-secondary program at an educational institution.

You may collect up to a total of $600 without affecting your entitlement with a total maximum benefit of $1,200. The tutorial assistance you get will be in addition to your regular monthly education benefits for going to school. For payments beyond $600, the VA figures your entitlement charge by dividing the amount they paid beyond $600 by your full-time rate for schooling.

To apply, stop in at your Student Veteran Services before you start to complete the application process and answer any questions you may have. To see if you are eligible for tutorial assistance, you must contact your School Certifying Official - this official may be located in one of the following offices: Financial Aid, Veterans Affairs, Student Affairs, or another office. You must complete application form 22-1990t which can be found here filled in for the tutor certification part from Learn Without Limits. You will need to have your School Certifying Official also sign the form. When the form is complete, please mail it to the Regional Processing Office that serves the state in which your school is located.
